-
Bake in the oven for 6 minutes.
-
Unwrap about 40 Werther’s Chewy Caramels.Add the caramels to a medium-sized stovetop pan, and add 1.5 ounces evaporated milk.Over low heat, slowly melt these two ingredients together, stirring often.

Evenly spread out your chopped pecans, chocolate chips, over the baked brownie base, and drizzle with the caramel sauce.
-
Take small handfuls of the remaining brownie dough and flatten with your fingers and place it on top of the caramel. Place those pieces all over the pan to cover as much as you can. You may have some holes but once baked you will not be able to tell.
-
Bake for 15 minutes.

How to Melt Werther’s Chewy Caramels
Werther’s Chewy Caramels are very easy to melt and taste great in recipes!
Add unwrapped caramels to a saucepan with evaporated milk, with a ratio of about 26 caramels to 1 ounce of evaporated milk.
Keep the heat low and stir the caramel sauce frequently.
Even with the low heat, it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to create a nice caramel sauce.
For a thicker sauce, add less milk; for a thinner sauce, add more milk.

Store Homemade Brownies
Store the homemade brownies in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3-4 days.
You can also store them in the refrigerator for up to 7 days, although this will cause the brownies to become slightly harder.
Final Thoughts
These brownies are some of the best brownies I have ever made and eaten.
They do take a bit more time than simple boxed brownies, but they taste so much better!

Go make these today, right now… I mean it. You will not be disappointed!
Don’t be afraid to test with variations, too. I have substituted with white chocolate and even mint chocolate. Yum!
